The team at James Niehues came to us with a website running on a Shopify 1.0 theme, wanting to upgrade their theme and increase average order value (AOV) on their ad spend before heading into the critical holiday season.
After improving their website framework by upgrading to the newest Shopify 2.0 theme technology, we took the opportunity to redesign their site from top to bottom, aiming for a clean, understated feel where the hero is the art. This redesign effort included elevated new interior photography and information-packed product detail pages.
We placed a heavy focus on navigation and product finding during this project, exploring different entry points for shoppers to find what they were looking for by introducing Shop by State, Country, Limited Edition and Best Sellers to the navigation, and adding product filtering to collection pages. We also added a selection of product upsells to the product page add to cart area, offering an easy way for shoppers to add relevant products to cart as they shop.
The result is a gorgeous site where the art shines, and sales do too. In the four months since launch, total sales were up 16% compared to 2022, and AOV was up 13%. Now those are some stats we'll hang on our wall!
